Its been a while...

A lot has happened in the last year. It looked like I was going to have to close the Crammit site down, because it was costing me almost 2,000 dollars a year to keep it going. Ugh…. Hosting expenses were the biggest culprit, followed by domain maintenance, purchasing SSL certificates to guarantee site security, and Domain registration. When I first started Crammit, I used a GoDaddy solution, which worked fine until they decided that due to the number of files stored only site, I had to switch to a "commercial storage solution", which increased my annual cost from around 100 bucks to over a thousand. Unsustainable, as virtually nobody is buying Crammit in any kind of volume, and there wasn't enough income to cover expenses. I was paying nearly a couple of thousand a year to provide what was essentially a public service!
Fortunately, in the last two weeks, I've completed the transition from GoDaddy to a new provider that gives me unlimited storage, faster downloads, and a free SSL certificate for 1/10th of what GoDaddy was charging. So the long and the short of it is that Crammit is here to stay! One or two people a month buy copies or make a donation, so that's enough to keep the doors open. I was horrified at the prospect of leaving all of you nice folks who bought Crammit without the ability to play any content!
In any case, thanks for your support and patience. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes!

Just a note for Crammit users running Mac Catalina or Big Sur.
Make sure that you grant Crammit FULL DISK ACCESS in your System Preferences - > Privacy and Security pane. IF its not enabled, you will get a permissions error when the downloader tries to save a file on your machine!

Site update!

A couple of minor tweaks to the website… Download access only is longer being offered as a separate purchase. Those who have purchased it already, still have valid accounts, but I'm finding it too much overhead to be constantly refunding accidental purchases from people who have bout a version of Crammit!
That purchase item is a holdover from the early days of Crammit where it was only an exporter, and not a player. Now that all versions can download directly from within the app and then unpack and play (not to mention export!), it seems silly to maintain this legacy purchase item.
I call it progress!

2020 finds us in a pretty good place. Stable versions of all formats now! Windows, Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Now I'm looking forward to the last link in the Jammit Chain… Recording! My new year's resolution is to add Recording to Crammit. You heard it here first.

I will be away for a well-deserved break (I think!) from August 20 to October 12, 2018. During this time, I will not have a computer so making any changes to ht database of registered users will not be possible until I return. The good news is that purchases from the App store iOS are unaffected, and the purchase of Crammit for Mac from this website will be unaffected. The only impact to loyal users is that separate download Access via the website will not be enabled until I return.
Really want to thank all the users for their support and enthusiasm for this project. It's been a helluva year, and George needs a beer and some sun!
